Harmony (Ship) logbook, 1789-1790.

The logbook of the ship Harmony details a shipping voyage from Calcutta to South Africa and then to Philadelphia, Dec. 1789-May 1790. The ship's master was John Willet; the logbook keeper was Benjamin Wilson. The logbook includes references to animals seen during the voyage and an account of a British transport vessel with prisoners aboard, bound for Botany Bay. During its voyage, the Harmony spoke the vessel Earl of Winchester and the brig John out of Newburyport.
